From the river’s viewpoint
It is very often the case that the best place to stand when taking a photograph of a scene like this (typical of northern England) is in the river itself. Fortunately, it is usually possible to do this without getting your feet wet as there are likely to be many rocks protruding above the waterline. Just make sure of your footing before you start to compose the shot.
